About us
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the world's largest professional organization for management accountants and financial managers.

The Golden West Council is one of 24 regional councils within the IMA organization. The council Provides a pool of resources to 16 chapters in Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii.

The Redwood Empire Chapter chartered in 1971 includes participation from members and employers who reflect a broad range of industry representation.

This site is designed to provide timely information to assist current members in keeping up to date with Chapter activities, as well as provide potential new members with an overview of the benefits of Chapter participation.

Purpose:

  • To develop through research, discussion and exchange of information, a better understanding of the sources, types, purposes and use of accounting and related data as applied to all types of economic endeavor, and to make this information available to members and others.
  • To assist and encourage with respect to the role of accounting in the implementation and development of the socioeconomic structure.
  • To stimulate worldwide acquaintance and fellowship among members.
  • To unite through membership in the Institute, persons interested in accounting.
  • To provide opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of accounting practices and mentors to increase their individual capabilities.
  • To promote the profession of management accounting by providing for the recognition of educational attainment and professional competence of management accountants.
